The local immigration office of Dortmund will host a presentation about the residence law for international students while studying in Germany.

On Tuesday, 23 April, 2024, at 2:00 pm, we will be hosting a virtual presentation about studying in Dortmund concentrating on the residence law for international students.

This event will be presented by the local Foreigners' Registration Office. The team of the Foreigners' Registration Office “Ausländerbehörde Dortmund” will be our guests to inform you about important legal rules and restrictions for international students.

Topics addressed will be general legislation and obligations of international students in Germany, under what circumstances a residency permit may be extended and how to discuss these matters with the Immigration Authorities. In addition, what international students should consider when looking for work after graduation will be addressed.

The one-hour lecture in German will begin at 2:00 pm and will be held via Webex. The one-hour presentation in English will follow at 3:00 pm. There will be an opportunity to ask questions after each presentation.

You may ask your questions at the end, however, please note that individual situations will not be discussed.
