As a student from abroad, can I take part in an international program at TU Dortmund University?

Of couorse! As long as you remain enrolled at TUDO, you may participate in most programs abroad. German citizenship is only required for a few programs.  For TU Dortmund University's Overseas Exchange Program, both German and English language skills are required (approx. B1), but for an Erasmus+ stay abroad (study or internship) it is more important that you speak English - and possibly the local language.

What makes sense for me?

Especially for students who want to gain a foothold in Europe and work here after their studies, it can make more sense to complete an internship abroad.  The IAESTE Program provides paid internships across the globe, and for a position that yoou find on your own in Europe you can apply for the Erasmus+ grant. However, outside of the Schengen countries in Europe and overseas it can be more difficult to get the necessary visa.

You can also spend one or two semesters at a partner university - the Erasmus+ exchange program in your department is the easiest way to do that. Or a short-term program that just lasts a few weeks in the winter or summer may fit better into your plan.

Where can I get more information?

You'll find an overview of all of your options on our website for "Outgoings". And simply come to this online-event for more:
