Please note: The application periods for some Master's degree programs differ from the application periods listed above. Please refer to the overview below for the application period for the relevant degree program. If the degree program of your choice is not listed there, the regular application period mentioned above applies.

Please also note: As it takes some time to process your application, we recommend that you submit your application as early as possible!

Application Period for the Winter Se­mes­ter

Beginning of January to 31 December (cut-off period)

The degree program Advanced Methods in Particle Physics (IMAPP) can only be started in the winter semester for the first semester.

Application Period for the Winter Se­mes­ter

Beginning of January to 15 November (cut-off period)

The degree program Automation and Robotics can only be started in the winter semester for the first semester.

Preparatory program "IMPACT"

The "IMPACT" preparatory and cultural transition program is offered for the Master's degree course in Data Science. Information on this can be found on the IMPACT Program website.

The degree program Econometrics can only be started in the winter semester for the first semester.

Further Information

Please submit your application for admission to the degree program in due form and time via our online application. Upload all documents relevant to your application in the online application. It is not necessary to send documents to us by mail.

Alternatively, you can use our Application for Admission. In this case, please submit your application by mail or e-mail.

Mandatory Documents to Be Submitted

  • Highest school leaving certificate
  • Subject and grade overview of the highest school leaving certificate
  • Subject and grade overviews of your studies
  • certificate of completion of studies
  • Information on the grading system of your­ university
  • Sworn translations of all documents in German or English

Additional Mandatory Documents to Be Submitted if These Have Been Acquired

  • Certificate of the assessment test (Feststellungsprüfung)
  • Proof of successfully passed university entrance examination
  • Highest proof of your German language skills
  • In case of name change: Certificate of the name change

Additional Mandatory Documents for Applicants from China, Vietnam or India

  • APS Certificate
  • Group APS are ­only accepted if they are­ specifically issued for TU­ Dortmund University.

Degree Program-Specific Documents

Individual­ degree programs­ require­ further degree program-specific documents.

For individual study programs, special program-specific documents are required in addition to the general application documents. Please inform yourself in advance, which study program specific documents you need.
