Social Counseling
The Social Counseling at the International Office offers international students support with financial, familial or residence-law difficulties.
Social Counseling provides support for questions about:
- visas and residency
- finishing degrees
- financial aid and scholarship possibilities
- housing opportunities in Dortmund and the surrounding areas
- possibilities for cultural exchange and integration
- involvement in campus life

Presence consultation hour
The on-site consultation hours for social counseling take place on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. with prior appointment booking via Terminland. The consultation takes place in the International Office, room 212 (2nd floor, Emil-Figge-Str. 61).
Online consultation
The online consultation hour for social counseling takes place on Thursdays from 1.00 - 2.00 p.m. on Zoom. It is not necessary to book an appointment in advance.

Cancellation of consultation hours
Please note that the face-to-face and online consultation hours for social counseling will be canceled up to and including 09.04.2026.
