Special Call for the USA for January 2027

Classes, the cafeteria, the lecture hall—and all of that just in Dortmund? How about a semester in the USA instead? Despite recent news coverage, the US remains an exciting place to study, with excellent universities and a campus life that inspires many German students. Experience daily student life firsthand, discover new perspectives, and form your own opinion.

The International Office is now offering a last-minute opportunity to apply for a tuition-free spot at one of TU Dortmund University’s over 100 partner universities in the U.S.

  • Application deadline: July 15, 2026 (by 11:59 p.m.)
  • Start of studies in the U.S.: Early January 2027
  • Duration: 1 semester
  • Benefits: 100% waiver of tuition fees at the partner university (travel and living expenses may be subsidized through Auslands-BAföG or other scholarships.)
  • Best suited for: Bachelor’s students with at least B2 English and B1 German language skills (all degree programs). Master’s students may participate in the program, but they may only be able to enroll in Bachelor’s-level courses in the U.S.
