Partner networks

International partner networks are a central component of TU Dortmund University's strategic orientation. By systematically building and maintaining strong networks, TU Dortmund University creates the basis for sustainable cooperation and international visibility.

China-NRW University Alliance

TU Dortmund University is a member of the China-NRW University Alliance. The consortium was founded in 2006 with the aim of networking German-Chinese cooperation activities. The University of Cologne takes the lead, other members besides TU Dortmund University are the University of Siegen, the University of Münster, the University of Wuppertal and the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences.

Ghana-NRW University Alliance

The Ghana-NRW University Alliance is a consortium of eight universities from North Rhine-Westphalia, founded in 2023, which aims to promote exchange in science and studies between the West African country and NRW universities. The University of Cologne is the consortium leader for the new liaison office. In addition to TU Dortmund University, other members include Bochum University of Applied Sciences, Ruhr University Bochum, the University of Duisburg-Essen, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences and the University of Siegen.

German Centres for Research and Innovation (DWIH)

The German Centres for Research and Innovation (DWIH) strengthen Germany as a location for research, science and innovation in the world at six locations. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is responsible for managing the global network.

TU Dortmund University is involved in the DWIH New York (USA), San Francisco (USA), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Tokyo (Japan) and New Delhi (India), partly independently and partly through its membership in the UA Ruhr, and thus promotes the expansion of international innovation networks and research cooperation.
