This is a place where cultures, German and international students, teachers and students meet, who together acquire language skills and intercultural competence, attend concerts, conferences and receptions, exchange information about job opportunities, stays abroad and experiences.

Note: Please note that the IBZ is primarily designed for events with an international focus. Rooms can be reserved for this purpose at the earliest one year (12 months) in advance. For events without international focus, a reservation request for the premises can be made at the earliest four weeks before the event date.


The IBZ is primarily given to events with an international focus. For events without an international focus a reservation request can be made at the earliest four weeks before the event date.

In the IBZ international cultural events and conferences, but also meetings of student working groups or international cooking evenings take place.

Events must end at 10:00 pm.

Please note that the IBZ cannot be booked for private events or dance and party events.

In the IBZ you will find an event hall, a foyer including a kitchen and two to three seminar rooms. For more detailed information about the rooms, please see Premises.

Please send us a reservation request via TU Dortmund University Service Portal > General Information> Event Management. Here you can go directly to the service portal.

The event hall is equipped with a HD projector and a screen. In addition, there is a handheld microphone, a pocket microphone and a gooseneck microphone. Furthermore, the stage is equipped with stage lighting.

Seminar room 1 has a mobile touchboard. In the larger seminar room 2/3 there is a projector including an installed screen.

During the event, the organizer is independently responsible for the operation of the technology.

Various chairs and tables are available. Furthermore, the seminar rooms have two movable walls and whiteboards. Bar tables are not available.

No. The organizer is responsible for the organization of the event, reconstruction of the premises, catering, operation of the technical equipment, etc.

Yes, the building is barrier-free. There is also a mobile ramp for the stage and a height-adjustable console in the event hall.

Subject to availability, the IBZ can be booked for external events. Please contact the International Office if you are interested.

For special university events, an exemption of up to 25 € per participant and day is set for the participation fees if the participation fees are used exclusively for catering, printed matter or media. In this case, the university does not charge a user fee.

For events organized by external users, the full user fee is charged.

The IBZ is located on the North Campus of the TU Dortmund University. You can find the building on the campus map under number 4a.

Should an emergency occur during an event, the organizer must independently make the emergency call (fire brigade / ambulance 112 or police 110).

In addition, the control room of TU Dortmund University should be informed immediately (0231 755 3333). The control room is staffed 24 hours a day.
