Terms and Conditions of Participation and Data Protection
Giveaway Terms and Conditions: Instagram prize draw for 5,000 followers
The giveaway runs from 18 February 2026 to 26 February 2026, at 9:00 a.m. (CET).
The following items from the TU Dortmund University campus shop will be raffled off:
- Three TU-BVB scarves
To participate, visit the giveaway post on the International Office's Instagram page: Like the giveaway post, answer the question "What does international mean to you?" in a comment below the post, and follow the International Office's Instagram channel. Multiple comments will be counted as a single entry. There will be three winners, each receiving one scarf.
By participating in the giveaway, participants accept these Terms and Conditions of Participation and Data Protection.
Comments that violate the guidelines of Instagram's parent company Meta, German law, and/or copyright will be removed without notice upon discovery. Participants are then excluded from winning.
All natural persons who follow the Instagram page of the International Office are eligible to participate. The organizers of the giveaway, namely employees of the International Office of TU Dortmund University and their relatives, are excluded from participating in the giveaway.
The three winners will be selected at random after the end of the giveaway.
The winners will be notified via the Instagram comment function of the Instagram post and, if the privacy settings of the respective Instagram account allow it, additionally in a personal Instagram message.
The winners can collect their prize by appointment at the office of the responsible colleague in the Social Media Section of the International Office (Famke Lang) on the North Campus (Emil-Figge-Straße 73, 44227 Dortmund). The prize must be collected within six weeks of the winner's response. If the prize is not collected within this period, it is forfeited and a new winner is drawn. The prize is also forfeited and a new winner is drawn if the winner does not respond within 72 hours of the prize being announced (to arrange the collection date).
In order to receive their prize, winners agree to provide the International Office with their name and Instagram username. Participants agree that their personal data may be stored by the organizer (TU Dortmund University, International Office) for the duration of the giveaway and used for the purpose of conducting the giveaway. This consent does not imply that the data will be used for other purposes or passed on to third parties. After the giveaway has ended, the data will be deleted, but the comments on Instagram will remain and continue to be publicly visible. The information requirements regarding data protection can be viewed here. This consent is voluntary and can be revoked at any time by e-mail or in writing to the organizer (TU Dortmund University, International Office, Famke Lang, Emil-Figge-Str. 73, 44227 Dortmund, e-mail). In this case, participation in the giveaway is no longer possible.
This giveaway is not affiliated with Instagram and is in no way sponsored, supported, or organized by Instagram. The sole responsible contact is the Social Media Section of the International Office, TU Dortmund University, (Famke Lang, e-mail).
German law applies. Legal recourse is excluded.
