Change of Degree Program
Are you already a student at TU Dortmund University with foreign educational qualifications and would now like to change your degree program? Here you will find all relevant information.
Application
If you have decided on a new degree program and wish to apply for the first semester, you must submit a new application in due time and form, just like your initial application.
If you have decided on a new degree program and would like to apply for the first semester, please follow the instructions for applying for an advanced semester.
Enrollment Period
You can apply for enrollment in the following period
- Summer semester 2026: 19 January 2026 - 3 April 2026
An extension of the period is not possible.
The exact enrollment period can be found in the respective letter of admission.
Please note: A transfer is only possible once you have transferred the semester fee for the coming semester and are re-registered.

- Full name (as in passport/ID card)
- Applicant number
- Matriculation number, if already available
- Degree program or subjects for which you wish to enroll
Attachments:
- List of required enrollment documents
- Permitted file format: pdf
- Not permitted: Cloud links, zip files and similar
- Letter of admission or letter of access
- Registration for Enrollment
- Valid identification document, e.g. passport
- Highest school leaving certificate with overview of subjects and grades
- Sworn translations of all documents (German or English)
- Proof of health insurance
- Proof of sufficient language skills
- Important: Enrollment requirements for the degree program. You will need special documents for individual degree programs.
If applicable, additional documents:
- Certificate of the assessment test for university graduates
- Proof that you have passed the university entrance examination
- APS certificate for educational certificates from China, Vietnam or India
- Degree certificates for previous studies
- Degree certificates
- Transcript of Records (overview of subjects and grades)
- Sworn translations of all documents (German or English)
- Certificate of exmatriculation and completion for previous studies at a German university
- Application for recognition of examination results for entry into a higher semester
(completed in full and signed by the examination board)
