Internship Programs
Various programs enable you to gain practical experience at or in the environment of TU Dortmund University.
The Dortmund Global Edge Program (DoGEP) is a special offer for students from partner universities in the USA. Students (Bachelor or Master) begin their studies abroad at TU Dortmund University in the winter semester with supplementary courses to prepare them for their practical placement and then complete an internship in the Ruhr region in the following summer semester. The TU Dortmund University organizes the internship for them (further information).
International students from Erasmus+ partner countries who are interested in conducting an internship at TU Dortmund University should first research in which department they would like to do the internship and then discuss the possibility of an internship with a potential supervisor.
After receiving a confirmation of the internship, the International Office supports the administrative organization of the stay by providing information on enrollment, finding accommodation and living in Dortmund.
Every year IAESTE trainees come to TU Dortmund University. The International Offices helps them with their first steps in Dortmund and supports them to find their way in the foreign environment and to make new contacts.
Please ask your home university if it is participating in the IAESTE program and for further information about the application process.

Students of Lehigh University are welcome to apply for positions offered by TU Dortmund University in the Iacocca International Internship Program.

Students in the Interdisciplinary Global Program of the Northern Arizona University will be supported regarding their internship in the second semester of their stay in Dortmund.
The International Office will be available to answer all questions regarding the search and realization of the internship.
TU Dortmund University, together with the other universities of the University Alliance Ruhr (Ruhr University Bochum and University of Duisburg-Essen), makes the Ruhr area one of the most popular destinations in Germany every summer for students of the RISE program (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) coordinated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Please consult the related website of DAAD for information on current internship offers. Starting in November each year, vacant internship positions are advertised here. The application deadline for students is usually in November.

In cooperation with various companies, the universities of the University Alliance Ruhr (TU Dortmund University, Ruhr University Bochum and University of Duisburg-Essen) offer up to 20 Ruhr Fellowships in the summer for students from Ruhr Fellowship partner universities.
Due to our cooperation with the International School Ruhr, students from our bilateral/university-wide and ISEP exchange partners can also apply for a full time teaching internship.
For students of the University of Newcastle, four-week short-term internships can be organized.
Students who are interested on participating in the WISE program (Working Internships in Science and Engineering - Student Trainee activies in the scientific and technical field) of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) should directly contact the department of TU Dortmund University where they want to gain practical experience.
