Find out how the housing market works, what special features apply to international students and how you can specifically increase your chances.

Finding accommodation in Dortmund is challenging - especially for international students who are new to Germany and are not yet familiar with administrative requirements such as registration, tenancy agreement, SCHUFA or confirmation of residence.

As part of the event series "Your Path to TU Dortmund University", you will receive a structured overview of the student housing market in Dortmund, the role of the Studierendenwerk, realistic price ranges and proven strategies for a successful application. You will learn what landlords in Germany typically expect, what mistakes are often made and how you can systematically improve your chances of success.

The event will take place online via Zoom and is aimed specifically at international students starting their studies at TU Dortmund University in the summer semester 2026.
