Information about the Application

You are non-EU/EEA citizen, have­ acquired your university entrance qualification­ outside the EU/EEA and would like to apply for a degree program without admission restrictions in an advanced semester?

  • You can only ­successfully apply for a degree program without admission restrictions in an advanced semester if you can be placed in an advanced semester on the basis of recognized achievements. The recognition of the achievements is carried out by the responsible examination board. You can choose yourself which credits you would like to have recognized. Please use the application form for recognition of examination achievements. If you have any questions about the procedure, you can also ­contact the ­academic advisor­.   • Important: Please apply for the recognition of your achievements as soon as possible! We recommend that you submit your complete application for recognition to the responsible examination board at least 4 weeks before the deadline.
  • The completed and signed application form for the recognition of examination achievements must be submitted together with the online application. On the basis of the recognized achievements, you will be placed in a specific semester by the ­Admissions Department. The regulations for the academic year are observed.

  • You can only apply for a degree program with admission restrictions in an advanced semester if you can be placed in an advanced semester on the basis of recognized achievements.   • Important: Please apply for the recognition of your achievements as soon as possible! We recommend that you submit your complete application for recognition to the responsible examination board at least 4 weeks before the deadline.
  • The application for a study place in a degree program with restricted admission in an advanced semester takes place via the Campusportal at the Student Registration Office of TU Dortmund University. The application deadline is 15.09. (for the winter semester­) and 15.03. (for the summer semester­).
    Important: Before you apply, please have your foreign educational certificates­ checked by the­ Admissions Department. ­For this purpose, please submit by 15.07. (for the Winter semester) or by 15.03. (for the Summer semester) your application documents together with  the  application for admission to studies.
  • The completed and signed application form for recognition of examination papers must be submitted together with the online application of the Admissions Department (see below) and the Campusportal of the Student Registration Office. On the basis of the recognized achievements, you will be placed in a specific semester by the­ Admissions Department. The regulations for the academic year are observed. Your application will­ only­ be­ considered for this semester.
  • Admission to degree programs with admission restrictions in an advanced semester will only be granted if the available number of places has not yet been exhausted or if places have become available again.
  • After you have received a place to study, you submit the signed­ letter of admission­ to the Admissions Department. The letter­ of admission will be sent to­ you exclusively­ by e-mail. The­ binding deadline for enrollment is stated­ in the letter­ of admission.
  • If you­ have not­ received a message from TU­ Dortmund University by the start of the lecture period­, your application has to be considered as rejected.

Please use this checklist to find out about the documents required for your application. We must receive all of your documents before the application deadline. Therefore, we recommend that you apply as early as possible, as this is the only way to give sufficient room for a later submission of potentially missing documents!

  • Proof of successfully passed university entrance examination
  • certificate of completion of studies
  • Information on the grading system of your­ university
  • Highest proof of your German language skills
  • In case of name change: Certificate of the name change

Additional Mandatory Documents for Applicants from China, Vietnam or India (India: as of application for the Winter semester 2023/2024)

  • APS Certificate
  • Group APS are ­only accepted if they are­ specifically issued for TU­ Dortmund University.

Additional Mandatory Documents for­ Students from Pakistan

  • HEC Attestation Stamp on the subject and grade overviews of the previous studies and the degree
