There is a vast offer of scholarships! When applying for a scholarship, it is important to pick the right one. A thorough research is worth it as an optimal fit of sponsors and beneficiaries is significant.

Scholarships of TU Dortmund University

Since the winter semester 2011/2012, TU Dortmund University has been offering the Deutschlandstipendium as a funding opportunity for high-performing and talented students. Here you can find further information.

External Scholarship Providers

You can use the DAAD scholarship database to search for suitable scholarship programs by entering your data and apply for them from your home country and before entering the Federal Republic of Germany. More information can be found here.

Scholarships for Socially and Politically Committed Students

The target group are students, first-year students and doctoral candidates who do not only achieve above-average results at school and university, but are also socially and politically committed. For more information click here.

Anyone who is professionally and socially committed and interested in socio-political issues can find out more about the KAS scholarship for international students here.

The Heinrich Böll Foundation awards study and doctoral grants to German and foreign students and doctoral candidates. Information on the requirements and the application can be found here.

An important goal is that the scholarship holders show their social responsibility in society after their studies - ideally in an ambitious position. For more information click here.

In addition to above-average performance, socio-political commitment and personality also count when selecting the scholarship holders. Young people from low-income families are given special consideration in the selection and in the amount of the scholarship. More information is available here.

Scholarships Provided by Church Organizations

The Cusanuswerk is the Catholic Church's organization for the promotion of gifted students in Germany and awards state funding to talented Catholic students of all disciplines. You can find more information about the scholarship here.

According to the Evangelisches Studienwerk, it supports students and doctoral candidates of all disciplines at universities and colleges in Germany as well as in Western and Eastern Europe. The scholarships are suitable for social and semesters abroad. Here you will find more information.

The KAAD is the scholarship organization of the Catholic Church in Germany for postgraduates and researchers from (developing) countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Near and Middle East, and Eastern and Southeastern Europe. Here you will find more information.
