For families there are some events at TU Dortmund University. These are aimed at whole families as well as at parents or children of different age groups or school phases.
For Parents and Children
The Parents' Café for studying, employed and future parents at TU Dortmund University, where children are welcome to join in, invites you to exchange ideas and relax.
At the TU Dortmund University there is a holiday daycare for children (aged 6 to 13 years) of students and employees. This offer is also aimed at members of the FH Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
Offers for pupils
At TU Dortmund University, a wide variety of programs and support measures are offered for school children, some of which differ depending on the school phase.
For Children of Primary School Age
You can find current information about the events for primary school children (only in German) on the websites of the family services.

After the successful trial period in the months of May and June 2021 with the online learning platform "sofatutor.com", the Department of Equal Opportunity, Family and Diversity would like to continue supporting you with this free offer in the first school semester 2021-22:
Starting September 1, your school children (1st-13th grade) will be able to use homework help via the online learning platform "sofatutor.com". If you already had a license in spring, you can reactivate your existing account.
For parents who would like to use this offer for the first time: sofatutor.com offers didactically tested learning content in 13 school subjects that adapts to the child's individual learning progress (in German). There are interactive exercises and worksheets tailored to the content, which can be used to repeat and consolidate what has been learned. In addition, more than 10,000 learning videos explain complicated topics in an understandable and interesting way. From 5 to 7 p.m., schoolchildren can receive direct answers in the homework chat. Questions can also be sent to the "Lehrerbox" at any time and will be answered within 24 hours.
There are 100 licenses for this school semester. To get an access code please send an informal e-mail to the family service at the TU Dortmund University. With the access code, you can either reactivate your old account or create a new one. One license can be used for several children in one household.

High-performing pupils have the opportunity to take part in selected lectures and exercises in various subjects at the pupils’ uni (SchülerUni). The aim of the SchülerUni project is to promote and motivate particularly gifted pupils individually. The project is intended to provide early guidance in choosing a course of study and thus shorten the length of study in the long term.

For Senior Pupils

In the spirit of study orientation, pupils from grade 10 onwards can get to know the STEM courses of study at TU Dortmund University (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) by attending lectures and participating in experiments and exercises.

In the spirit of study orientation, the do-camp-ing project invites pupils from grade 10 onwards who are interested in technology as well as natural sciences and are about to decide on a course of study to spend a week on campus and work on a joint project in engineering or computer science. Participants have the opportunity to try their hand at these topics, gain an insight into student life and make contacts.
